You get a lot of bang for your buck in a Monte Carlo because they're not on most collector's radar.
Chevrolet Impala & Monte Carlo 1965-74 market review
For 1965 Chevrolet switched to more aggressive styling and continued the trend in 1967 with the fastback Impala two-door.
Impalas sold here were normally four-door Hardtops with 5.3-litre engines but in the US lots of cars were equipped with 396-cubic-inch (6.6-litre) V8s and a few left factories with NASCAR-style 427s.
Despite their size and performance these cars aren’t rated by US collectors and are still $15,000 cheaper than a Camaro SS396.
The Monte Carlo is an interesting alternative to more basic Chevs, however our sample didn’t include any big-engined SS454 Montes. These also can top $60,000.
