Chevrolet Corvette 1984-2008
LOTS and LOTS of affordable Corvettes here, with more destined to arrive following changes to the Motor Vehicle Standards Act.
Values for 1984-96 cars have increased during the past five years; growing appeal due in large part to late-1980s cars not needing RHD conversion to achieve full registration.
Six-speed manual cars are generally regarded as superior to the earlier ‘4+3’ manual models.
Corvette’s first major post-C4 styling shift came in 1997 and these cars, again due to compliance costs, are hard to find and relatively expensive.
Anyone contemplating a spend of around $100K will be better off with a post-2004 model and preferably the feisty, 7.0-litre Z06.
