Cam McConville and Renault set sights on Geelong Revival

Australian racing champion Cameron McConville will be taking the Renault Megane Trophy V6 out of retirement for this year’s Geelong Revival Motoring Festival.

McConville will pilot the race-ready Renault for the Revival’s main event — the national sprint — running four times on the Saturday and Sunday.

“Renault Australia is thrilled to share the Megane Trophy V6 with motorsport fans at this year’s Geelong Revival,” said Renault Australia Managing Director Justin Hocevar. “Taking part in the Revival provides us with the opportunity to celebrate our long history in motorsport as well as supporting the event itself, which gives a lot back to the local motorsport community.

Cam is no stranger to the Megane Trophy V6 having driven it in demonstration laps at the 2013 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, which was the last time the car was seen in public.

“I just love driving the Renault Megane Trophy V6,” Cam McConville said. “It’s a real driver’s car and one of the most enjoyable race cars I have ever driven. It’s been a little while since I had the pleasure of being behind the wheel, so I can’t wait to show it off at the Geelong Revival and support all the motorsport fans that come along to this great event.”
