2021 Market Review - Ford Mustang 1974-2011

Local interest in Ford’s Mustang waned after 1974 yet the recent market is packed with cars from this era. Have they been here since virtually new or perhaps more recent arrivals? Whatever the answer, prices for pre-1995 cars are up 50 percent on their levels of 3-5 year ago but still remain cheap.

Cobra versions imported in 2001 by Ford and sold at $85-90,000 remain at around $30,000 and seem hard to sell. Move into the 21st Century and pricing becomes more diverse, with some GTs at around $40,000 and quite similar cars nearly double that price.

Shelby GT500s and Saleen S281s are scarce and some may reach $100,000. For those taking a long-term view, 2008-10 Supersnakes have exceeded 2020 prices and remain viable as investments.
