Where have all the Premiers gone?

Holden HK-HG V8/Premier/Brougham

What has happened to all the HK-HG V8 Premiers?

One sold at auction for an encouraging $50,000 while the classified and on-line advertisements delivered just a couple more.

These Holdens will almost always be two or three-speed automatics but be wary of original six-cylinder cars with transplanted V8s.

Should you find a four-speed manual with documents confirming it’s authentic, expect to pay somewhere near V8 Monaro money.

The Brougham with its fragile upholstery and elongated rump wasn’t a popular car when new however today’s buyers see them as a curiosity.

More Broughams than Premiers are available currently and they generally cost less than the shorter version.

HK-HG V8 $22,250 [4]

HK-HG V8 Utility $26,500 [2]

HK-HG Premier V8 $41,335 [3]

HK-HG Brougham $35,875 [6]
