Holden Commodore/Calais VB-VL V8/Turbo – market review
Long ignored, it now seems these Commodores are back on the menu for collectors and restorers.

VL Commodores have developed a strong following over recent years.

Perhaps people really did listen to our pleas to rescue and restore 1980s Australian cars before they disappeared.
A few years back, VB-VH Commodores were disappearing so fast they could have become extinct, but numbers today seem healthy and values are improving.
The VB-VH SL/E V8 is a significant car and top examples have hit $40,000. For most though, $20-25,000 is enough.
Also worthy is the VL Calais with Holdens revived V8 or Nissan turbo six.
These combine distinctive style with good performance and, in excellent order, deserve $20,000.
Even a basic VL SL Turbo that hasnt been thrashed and modified is on the money at $15,000.
VB-VL V8 SL/Berlina $10,520 [30]
VB-VH SL/E V8 $20,855 [9]
VL Calais V8 $14,355 [7]
VL SL Turbo $15,260 [14]
VL Calais Turbo $18,220 [11]
