We caught up with Peter Doyle and his Bullet Roadster at the recent Mac's Bridge car display in Queensland
Parked at Mac’s Bridge among the MX5s was this car, which owes its existence to Mazda’s top-selling sports model and not a lot else.
The Queensland-built Bullet is one of about 25 built and crammed beneath its the hinged nose is a Toyota V8. Crouched atop the engine is a Sprintex supercharger and power is said to be ‘adequate’. Peter has owned the car for around three years.
“I wanted a Bolwell but then I saw one of these at Speed On Tweed and thought ‘that looks like fun’. Finding one was the challenge and once I bought it, so was curing its appetite for clutches due to the cast flywheel.”
Other attractions included the supercharger, dual throttle-body fuel injection and Brembo brakes to match the performance. Now, however, the Bullet is for sale to help Peter fund a Lexus iS50.
