2021 Market Review - Buick 1935-1962
Look back to the Australia of 60-80 years ago and all the best people were being driven about in Buicks. Even the Prime Minister had one. Big straight eight models from the 1930s-40s would manage 130km/h and even today look impressive, helping surviving cars top $40,000.

Local assembly stopped in 1948 but Buicks kept coming in as dealer imports. The ones we mostly saw were Super and Roadmaster sedans, but others including chrome-dripping Specials and the Century Riviera sometimes show up. Look to 1959 and the Buick shape totally changed, adopting a wider and flatter design that is now quite hard to find locally and scarce even in the USA. A two-door 1959 Electra in spectacular condition was offered recently at US$87,000.
