Classic Bimmer
We rekcon BMW’s M3 coupe is about as much fun as you can have with a steering wheel.
The compact M-series coupe is a seriously good performer, and people have generally got to like what was once regarded out-there styling.
The three-door hatch is a design that almost didn’t make it into production. According to our feature on the series: “The Zed was originally launched in roadster trim and the BMW board took a lot of convincing by lead engineer Burkhard Göschel and his team before giving the M coupe project the green light, under the stipulation it had to be cost-effective.”
For enthusiasts of the marque, the highlight is the 3.2lt straight six engine initially tuned for 236kW/350Nm.
Shannons has one coming up for auction from November 8, carrying an estimate of $65-75,000.
