BMW 2002 & 3 Series 1968-91 – 2021 Market Review

2021 Market Review - BMW 2002 & 3 Series 1968-91

Sad news for lovers of 1960s and ‘70s BMWs is that few survive and numbers continue to dwindle. Better news is that values, except for very scarce CS coupes, are static. $20-25,000 is reasonable for an excellent 3.0Si or 3.3L sedan, but finding one is a challenge.

The 2002 which once was plentiful is experiencing diminished numbers allied to rising prices.

E30 models from the 1980s remain easier to find yet even these are becoming expensive. One from this era to watch is the 325iS; three quarters of an M3 but at half the price.

Dropping further down the price range brings into play pre-1983 versions of the 323i; a little more exclusive than E30 versions but with similar prospects for value growth and less expensive at present.

2002 $33,100 [5]

318/320i/323i (E21) $13,450 [8]

318i (E30) $20,720 [17]

320i/323i/325i (E30) $17,255 [30]

320i/325i Conv. (E30) $19,935 [20]

325iS $70,000 [1]
