Eight very collectible cars on offer
Bidding is underway for eight very desirable cars – seven of them prime Aussie muscle – via Slattery Auctions in Perth. And it looks as though people are not shy about splashing some cash on them.
Lot 1 is a 1971 Ford GT-HO Phase III – for many, the ultimate local hero car. It was restored to a very high standard a little over 20 years ago and claims several show awards. It’s one of 300 made. Bidding at the time of writing has reached Au$350k.
Lot 2 is 1977 Holden A9X hatchback, one of 100 built and said to be one of only two in the Supermint livery. Bidding has reached $330k.
Lot 3 is is a 2017 HSV GTSR W1 with 50km on the odo. It’s one of 275 made and bidding has reached $275k.
Lot 4 is a late 1971 HQ Monaro, with 350 V8 and four-speed manual. This one is listed as being a candidate for a restoration and comes with a long list of new parts. Bidding had reached $100k.
Lot 5 is a 1972 Chrysler E49 Charger, complete with the 265 straight six and triple Webers, and four-speed manual. This one has been restored, claims zero kays since, and bidding has reached $95k.
Lot 6 is a 1972 Holden Torana LJ GTR XU-1, with the 3.3lt straight six and four-speed manual. This one is described as being in good rather than concours condition. Bidding has reached $81k.
Lot 7 is a 2017 HSV Maloo GTSR. It’s a six-speed manual with just 20km showing and is getting strong interest. Bidding has reached $125k.
Finally we have lot 8 and we move to Japan with a 1975 Datsun 260Z. It has the 2.6 litre straight six and five-speed manual and has undergone a restoration. Bidding has reached $36k.
