Barn find Ford Falcon ESP up for auction

Collectable V8 Ford found in a shed

It’s one of those things you dream about tripping over – a rare collectible Aussie muscle car hidden away in a farm shed somewhere, in something resembling reasonable condition.

Listed as part of a farm clearing sale, the 1982 XE Ford Falcon ESP is running the 5.8lt V8 and four-speed manual transmission of the period and is actually a fairly rare model. No more than 180 are said to have been built in this spec.

The car shows 300,000km and is said to have last run five years ago.

It looks fairly complete, missing a battery and bonnet strut. The body looks straight, though it’s difficult to assess its real condition from the photos – however it looks promising.

What is remarkable is the condition of the interior, which seems complete and original.

The clearing sale is being conducted tomorrow by CJ Anderson auctioneers in Grenfell, NSW. You can see the listing for the car here.
