What you’re actually looking at is a 2016 Chevrolet SS that changed hands on Bring a Trailer for A$59,500 – a relic from Detroit’s brief, glorious habit of sourcing performance sedans from the General’s Aussie outpost.
Delivered new through a California dealer, it’s now sitting on 34,000 klicks. Somewhere along the way, the owner decided to honour its antipodean DNA with Holden badges in 2017. Lovely touch.
Not content with the factory 6.2-litre LS3 V8, he bolted on a supercharger. The result? A tyre-smoking 642 horsepower at the rear wheels, channelled through a six-speed auto and an LSD.
Standard SS kit includes 19-inch five-spokes, Brembos, Magnetic Ride Control, heated and vented pews, head-up display, Bose audio and dual-zone climate. Add a sunroof, ceramic paint protection, darkened glass and gloss black powder-coated alloys wrapped in Michelin rubber.
