Local auction houses offer up great range of classic, muscle cars and collectibles
No less than four classic car auctions from three different companies and four locations are coming up between now and early May.
First up is the montlh Lloyds classic and muscle car auction this Saturday, April 22, in Queensland. This has an eclectic mix of gear including some very desirable local cars. Arguably the pick of them is the XW Falcon GT which has been in the hands of the same family since nhew. Bidding has alrewady started strongly at $43,000 at the time of writing, and you can expect that to go a lot higher.
Other lots include a very clean looking Falcon XT GT, a couple of very tidy Monaros and perhaps the most unusual lot, a track version of the BMW ‘Batmobile’ 3.0 series.
Lloyds follows that up a week later with another classic car auction on April 29 at the Shepparton Motor Museum in Victoria – the first time it has held an auction there. Lots are to be announced shortly, so watch this space.
Meanwhile Mossgreen has a big classic car and motorcycle event coming up on April 30. Highlights include a Corvette C1 Roadster, an XW Falcon GT, a Ferrari 355 Spider and a recreation Jaguar D-type. There is also a wealth of memorabilia on offer.
Shannons Melbourne Autumn auction on May 8 has an extraordinary range of cars, motorcycles and memorabilia on offer, including examples of the first three series RX7 Mazdas, all in very good condition and all from the same collection. There is also an exceptional trio of Australian muscle: R/T E38 Charger, XW Falcon GT-HO Phase II and HK Monaro GTS 327.
