Auction Action: Holden FJ + Ford Escort RS2000 + HSV GTS + Porsche 996 911 2

Recent auction highlights from around the world

1955 Holden FJ sedan

Sold: $16,000
Shannons Lot 122

You don’t trip over these often. A one-owner very original FJ Holden. The owners’ parents bought it new in 1955 and when the owner got his licence he took over the family humpy. Being an engineer, he has done the servicing himself, including fitting a new short motor, though in recent years it has been given to a trusted mechanic. It has been garaged in the same house in Sydney’s lower north shore for decades. The interior is also original and well-preserved. The surf green paint is cracking in places, like the vinyl seats and the odo shows 74,556 miles, though it has been around the clock once already. History on wheels and a great buy, even as a project.

2014 HSV GTS Gen-F

Sold: $76,300

Red with black leather is an ageless combo and this one sold with both an owner’s manual and service history.

Here’s a motoring rarity. A one-owner, two-door Mk II Escort RS2000 in very original condition, sold with all purchase and service documents. Only 92,000 miles young and full history from the moment it left the B.S.Stillwell showroom in Kew, Melbourne. It was built in January 1980 with a letter from Ford verifying that, finished in Sno white with black cloth trim. It has the signature three-spoke sports steering wheel and sports front seats.

1969 Dodge Hemi Daytona

Mecum Kissimmee
January 4-15, 2023
Lot R411

This claims the lowest-mile original engine 4-speed Hemi Daytona documented to exist with just 6490 miles on the clock. Its owner history is equally as famous with previous owners including Otis Chandler, NFL star Kevin Greene and actor David Spade. Only 503 were built in 1969 and a mere 70 had the 426 Hemi inserted in them. Of the 70 just 20 were four-speeds and of the 20 just one was finished in T5 Copper Metallic with a white wing stripe and a tan interior. Expect it to sell for plenty.
