1967 Porsche 912
Sold: $318,000
Bring A Trailer
The Porsche 912 isn’t a powerhouse like the 911 that shares the same body. While air-cooled Porsches continue pulling crazy money, this pedestrian version, offered with no reserve, achieved this staggering result, being a one-owner car. Powered by a 1.6lt flat-four with a five-speed manual it rolls on 15-inch steel wheels. In its 55 years it has travelled a mere 64,000km. This award winner sold with sales and service documentation plus a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
1963 Ford T-Bird M-code sports roadster
Sold: $240,000
RM Sothebys Lot 370
As far as T-Birds go, this is as rare as they get and has almost every factory option. It’s one of 455 Sports Roadsters produced in 1963 and one of 37 with the most powerful 340hp M-Code, tri-power engine. Finished in Rangoon Red with a Pearl Beige interior, this T-Bird has been exquisitely restored using many NOS parts and has won countless awards across the USA.
1968 Maserati Mexico
Sold: $158,000
Collecting Cars
Never seen one before? No surprise as only 480 were made between 1966 and 1972. A three-year resto started in 2015 and on completion, it was displayed at Motorclassica in 2018. Under the bonnet lies a 4.2-litre quad cam V8 with around 286 horses, tied to a five-speed manual and driving the rear wheels. Delivered as a left-hand drive to Maserati Adelaide it was converted to a right hooker on arrival.
2018 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4
Sold: $380,000
Collecting Cars
Lamborghini started out in tractors and moved to supercars and today continues to make both. This Huracan LP 610-4 with its screaming 600hp 5.2lt V10 engine, seven-speed auto, four-wheel drive and Blu Cepheus paint sure is an eye-catcher. It has been driven a mere 27,927 km by its two owners, with $46,000 spent on it with options and ceramic coating.
On the Block:
1989 Ferrari Testarossa
Shannons
November 8-15, 2022
Estimate: $250,000-280,000
Perhaps you were the big winner of a recent lottery and are after flash new wheels. They don’t get a lot more flash than a Testarossa. First shown way back in 1984, you’d have to say the lines have aged incredibly well. Under the paint is a legendary 4.9lt V12 which is capable of propelling it to somewhere just shy of 300km/h. This one is headlining a Shannons online auction as this magazine hits the stands and claims a recent complete engine-out mechanical service.
