Just 19 pairs of cars will be built: comprising of a DB4 GT Zagato and a road-legal DBS GT Zagato
It’s quite an achievement for any automotive company to reach 100 years of life, with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche having only recently celebrated their 70 year anniversary.
Zagato, the storied automotive designhaus will blow out the candles to its centenary in 2019, and to celebrate – have enlisted Aston Martin to produce 19 pairs of brand-new, old Zagatos: comprising of a track-only DB4 GT Zagato and a road-legal DBS GT Zagato (below).
Zagato, and Aston Martin have shared a fruitful and intertwined history – creating numerous stunning, beautiful and incredibly collectible cars.
Furthermore, Aston Martin is no stranger to celebrating their more classic cars – with two series of ‘continuation’ vehicles including the DB4 GT and the recently-announced DB5 ‘GoldFinger’. They’ve also just opened a dedicated “heritage showroom” in the heart of London in order to cater to the increasing demand for classic Aston Martins.
The cars will be built to period specifications, and will utilise correct and continuing serial numbers however will be hand built new by Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell and at Aston Martin’s Global Headquarters in Gaydon.
The 19 sets of cars poignantly bookend a long and storied collaborative relationship – and will surely find themselves as coveted collector’s cars in short time.
Zagato design has long embodied timeless beauty, and these new cars will be no exception.
Such elegance doesn’t come cheap however, as the DBZ Century Collection will be priced at AUD$10.9 million dollars.
Global deliveries will commence in the fourth quarter of 2019 for the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation (above), and 12 months later for the DBS GT Zagato.
