Locally-built Ramblers lasted until 1978; the Rebel and Matador today still offering a lot of car for less than the price of a V8 Kingswood.
The Hornet and American also provide low-cost alternatives to six-cylinder Aussie models of similar age.
The two-door Javelin not long ago sold for less than Mustang money but collectors are showing interest and prices have climbed.
