Amazing Porsche duo up for grabs

Matching serial number classics head to the auction block

Two of Porsche’s definitive 21 century classics, the 918 Spyder and 911 R, are heading to the auction block at Bonhams’ ‘The Scottsdale Auction’, which is taking place on the 18 of January, 2018.

The pair of Porkers is being offered for sale by the original owner for the first time, and both of the cars look absolutely amazing.

According to Bonhams, the 2015 918 Spyder, finished in gorgeous shade of black, was optioned from new with the Weissach Pack wheels and a front axle lift system.

Bonhams add that the 918 Spyder, which is currently one of the fastest cars on the planet, is one of just 294 US-specification models and has travelled an absurdly low 2300 miles from new.

The owner of the 918 was contacted by Porsche and invited to pre-order a 911 R with the matching serial number as the 918 Spyder; 290.

The owner did so, and chose an epic spec for his 911 R, which he specified to be finished in Porsche’s Paint-to-Sample (PTS) ‘Acid Green’.

Bonhams say that the 911 R has travelled a ridiculously low 37 miles in total, which means that the uber-rare sports car is virtually brand new.

It’s hard to say how much the pair will sell for, but we’d hazard a guess it’d be close to $3 million US dollars.
