Affordable and desirable classics make for the perfect project starting point
The Adelaide Auto Expo takes place at the Adelaide Showgrounds November 15 and 16; and will play host to an automotive extravaganza, with various Show n Shines, dedicated displays for Hot Rods and Show cars, new car displays and various trader stalls.
In what’s described as an Aussie-first; the Saturday evening will also see a classic car auction dedicated to “barn finds” take place.
Organiser Geof Tartoosie told us with excitement: “they’re all cool and collectible cars! They’re not Daewoos!”
Indeed, the fleet of around 14 ‘barn finds’ boasts highlights like a six-cylinder XY, a 253 HQ Monaro, an AP5 Valiant, HG Premier 253, HK Panel Van, an FJ Landcruiser; and a Beetle that hadn’t seen the light of day for 40 years!
They’re offering genuinely collectible models for very affordable reserve prices, giving people a more accessible entry point to in-demand classics and providing the perfect starting point for a project.
If you’re on the lookout for a project – be sure to take a look at the Adeliade Auto Expo’s Barn Find Auction, taking place on at 4.00pm on Saturday, November 16.
The Expo itself opens 5.00pm on Friday, November 15. See the Expo website.
