Stuart Spriggs' 2017 VFII Motorsport Edition
2017 Commodore VFII Motorsport Edition
This has A number of upgrades over the SS-V Redline that it’s based on, including engine oil cooler, larger Brembo brakes, wheel package, Magnetic Ride suspension, some Chevy SS interior touches, and some Calais luxury touches. Stuart is a former Holden employee who, like a few people at the time, ordered this car as a special memento to mark the final days of local manufacturing.
He started with the company as a metallurgist and ended up working in a number of senior roles, including quality assurance.
He admires the dual nature of the car: “You can really scare the pants off yourself when you get into it,” he said, “but it’s also quite forgiving. It’s very predictable and you can feel what it’s doing.” He suggests its abilities are beyond those of most mere mortals, and he’s probably right. “Then you can jump in it with the family and go down to the beach and it’s very comfortable.”
The sporty and luxurious office
There’s no doubt these things were a hell of a swansong for the locally-produced Commodore line.
