Ford Falcon FGX XR6 Ute – todays tempter

One owner workhorse

Shock and sadness were felt when Ford Australia announced it was ceasing local manufacturing in 2016, after decades of production and many legendary models.

The first Aussie Ford ute was conceived in the early 1930s by Louis Bandt after a farmer’s wife wrote to Ford wanting a vehicle for church on Sunday and to take the pigs to market on Monday.

Here’s the first Ford ute.

This one-owner FGX XR6 ute with just over 48,000kms was produced April 2016, a few months before production ended.

Finished in Kinetic Blue it has a six-speed manual tied to the four-litre inline Barra six.

A selection of Ford accessories adorn this XR6 including a bonnet protector, weather shields, a polished aluminium roll bar, mudflaps and tinted windows. A reversing camera is fitted for extra safety. It rolls on its factory 19-inch alloys. Logbooks and service history are provided. It’s with Muscle car Warehouse for $54,000.
