Hero coupe
Though working in the rarified atmosphere of quarter million dollar-plus European coupes, AMG’s GT managed to stand out as an impressive bit of kit.
In a 2015 review of the GT S, Nathan Ponchard at Wheels magazine wrote: “It’s a great-looking car with a great-sounding engine and an X-factor that its rivals can’t match. Combine that with a terrific chassis and a much sharper sticker than the bitey old Mercedes SLS AMG and it appears Stuttgart is onto a winner.”
In the form of the 2016 car shown here, it’s running a 4.0lt 32-valve twin turbo V8, claiming 340kW, matched to a seven-speed ducal clutch transmission.
This example is showing 26,400km on the odo and is with Lorbek in Melbourne at $217,990.
