2014 FPV GT F – today’s tempter

Final V8 GT

FPV and Ford Australia’s final V8 was pretty much an instant collectible at launch and easily sold out the 500 cars earmarked for Australia, plus the extra 50 for New Zealand.

In a feature on the car, David Morley commented: “Well, if you know your hot-rod Falcons and FPVs, you’ll be aware of a model called the R-Spec. Basically, an FPV GT with some meaningful changes to the suspension, the R-Spec suddenly gave the platform some of the grip and balance needed to match its powerhouse, five-litre supercharged V8 engine.

“The GT F then, is – without wishing to play it down one little bit – a GT R-Spec with more power and some styling tweaks. And, thanks to that F, the biggest dose of Falcon collectability this side of a Phase III HO.”

It claimed 351kW (471hp) from the 5.0lt supercharged V8 and was equipped with the choice of a six-speed manual or auto transmission.

This manual example claims 1000km on the odo and is with Australian Muscle Car Sales in Sydney, priced at $137,000.
