2013 Jaguar XKR – today’s tempter

Supercharged V8

For Jaguar fans, this second major generation of the modern XK/XKR platform was a vastly improved proposition over the first-gen.

Designed by Ian Callum, it attempted to hark back to the iconic E-type with the shape of its grille, while offering a little more interior room than its immediate predecessor. It’s a substantially larger and lighter car.

Under the bonnet for the 2009 facelift model was a new-gen 5.0lt V8, which was supercharged for the XKR. That car now boasted a limited 280km/h top speed.

Equipped with a six-speed auto and claiming 48,300km on the odo, this example is with Lorbek in Melbourne and is priced at $129,880.
