2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster – Todays Supercar Tempter

Beautiful in brown

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is unquestionably one of the most notable supercars of the last decade.

Made to compete against the likes of Ferrari’s 458 Italia and Porsche’s 911 Turbo, the SLS managed to not only have its own identity among the very best, but it certain circumstances, it shined compared to the rest.

The SLS packed a 420kW and 650Nm wallop under its svelte, elongated bonnet thanks to what has to be Affalterbach’s most iconic handmade engine; the naturally aspirated, 6.2lt, M156 V8.

This utter leviathan of a motor sent its considerable oomph to the SLSs rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

All this equated to some mighty impressive performance figures, with SLS being able to thunder from 0-100km/h in a mere 3.7 seconds before continuing on to a top speed of 317km/h.

Originally, when the SLS was first released in 2009, it was only made available to customers as a two-door coupe.

However, in 2011 Mercedes revealed the SLS AMG Roadster and, if anything, Mercedes had managed to make their performance flagship even more desirable.

This particular SLS AMG is a 2012 Roadster finished in a very unique shade of brown called AMG Sepang Bronze Metallic.

According to the seller, the vehicle has travelled a very low 15,000 kilometres from new and has been exceptionally maintained both inside and out.

The gorgeous SLS Roadster is $489,000 and anyone interested in this topless V8 supercar can view the full listing here.
