Local muscle
With local car manufacturing long dead and buried, interest has gradually swung towards later-model ‘plastic bumper’ hero cars.
And while we’ve seen prices rise in recent times, they’re still nowhere near the level experienced by their chrome bumper brethren.
Ford’s local revival of the GT nameplate via the FPV tuning house led to a long series of four-door muscle cars, with the BF GT-P you see here sitting near the top of the range for that year.
Among other things, it features upgraded brakes, seats wheels and trim over the ‘standard’ GT.
This example is said to be in good shape with 223,000km on the odo.
It runs the Ford 290kW 5.4lt V8 with six-speed automatic.
Located at Merimbula in NSW, it’s priced at $42,500.
