Great eight
With every chrome-bumper GT Falcon seeming to command seven figures on the market these days, it pays to look at the later versions of Ford’s hallmark badge – which is exactly what we’ve done for Today’s Tempter.
What we’re looking at is a Series II 2005 FPV GT, specifically build number 612. It presents in top notch condition, wearing its original Lightning Strike silver hue and orange decals with 134,000km on the ticker. Being a GT means you get FPV’s 290kW version of the 5.4-litre DOHC Boss V8, in this case mated for a four-speed auto.
Our sister publication Wheels stated the BA GT was the first plastic-bumpered Falcon to be truly worthy of the badge, stating in a 2003 road test: “Ford has fallen short of the GT Legend since the 1970s. Now, at last, there’s a car tough enough to try it on.”
This one is up for sale for $47,990 by the crew at Australian Muscle Car Sales
