BMW’s E60 5 series introduced styling from the Bangle era, backed up with a range of electronics such as iDrive and adaptive headlights.
A highlight in the 545 variant was the 4.4lt V8, described this way by Car & Driver: “This V-8 is among the friendliest, most enthusiastic engines in existence. It revs so fast, so freely, so smoothly that you’ll bang into the 6500-rpm redline five or six times in the first hour of motoring.”
The enthusiastic engine claimed 245kW (329hp) and was matched to a six-speed automatic transmission as standard.
This example claims a full history with a recent transmission overhaul. John Conroy in Brisbane has it on the market at $15,990.
