2003 Holden Commodore SS – today’s tempter

2003 Holden Commodore SS

The release of the VY series Commodore represented a busy time for Holden, as evidenced by our feature on the period.

It notes: “It was the plethora of new models that was the real news for VY: A dual-cab Crewman ute with six-or eight-cylinder power, the off-roadish Holden Adventra all-wheel-drive wagon, the Crewman Cross-8 (also with AWD) and later, two-and four-wheel-drive single-cab/chassis.”

Nevertheless the SS was an important image-maker for the series and a value-for-money option for those who didn’t feel like stretching to the additional cost of an HSV.

This example on Hot House Green runs the 5.8lt V8 with a six-speed manual transmission.

It’s being offered with an RWC out of Bundaberg in Queensland for $22,000.
