2002 V2 Holden Monaro CV6 – Todays Blue Chip Tempter

Based on the VX Holden Commodore, the V2-Series Monaro marked the return to the legendary marque after a two decade absence from the market place.

Initially unveiled in concept form at the 1998 Australian International Motor in Sydney, the new Monaro was met with such applause from both the public and media that GM execs decided almost immediately that the concept would become reality.

The third generation of the iconic Aussie muscle car was built between 2001 and 2006, and would spawn a number of different spec models and variants, including an excellent range of HSV tuned vehicles.

In the beginning however, the Monaro was only offered in two guises; CV6 and CV8. The CV6 was the cheaper of the two options and was powered by a 3.8l supercharged V6 that was mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The CV8 Monaro was powered by the heroic LS1, 5.7l V8, and this donk could be mated either the 4-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

This particular Monaro is a 2002 CV6 model finished in ‘Hot House’ green with contrasting black leather interior.

The CV6 has travelled 146,000 kilometres from new and the seller is asking $16,999 for the green beauty.
