Very neat AUII XR8 in good condition throughout with some minor upgrades
Is it safe to call the AU Falcon a cult classic? We reckon so.
What was once the butt of Internet jokes and facetious humour has seemingly turned into genuine enthusiasm for the divisively styled full-size Ford.
The AU-series launched in 1998, with the Series II update arriving in midway through 2000. The Series II brought with it a number of developments, including: uprated brakes, suspension, sound systems, and crash safety – as well as rectifying small engineering issues.
This XR8 looks like a super neat unit, specified with the five-speed manual, factory sunroof and premium sound package.
The seller states that the exterior of the car is ‘excellent in most places’ as they have recently spent many weekends carrying out a paint correction.
The interior too is described as almost new with only some bolster wear to the driver’s seat and a slightly sagging rooflining near the driver’s door.
Some thoughtful upgrades have been carried out along the way, including dual 2.5-inch exhaust, BA/BF turbo brakes, and a Momo steering wheel and gear shifter.
The AUII has 206,000kms on the clock and is based in New South Wales.
It’s listed for $10,000 on the factory 17″ Tickford wheels, however the seller also has a set of 18″ T50 wheels that may be up for negotiation.
