2000 Jaguar S-type V8 – today’s tempter

If you know what you’re looking at, there can be some strong value for money out there in the Euro and Brit car world.

An example is this S-type, running a 4.0lt V8 and, according to the seller, comes fully loaded with all the luxuries.

This was a period when Ford had taken over the company arguably setting it up with a stronger financial footing.

The S-class DEW platform was shared with two other models from the Ford universe, including a Thunderbird and Lincoln.

Styling was by Geoff Lawson, who was the company’s design director for a decade.

The car was seen as taking on the likes of BMW 5 series and Mercedes-Benz E class. For a while provided and alternative to the long-lived XJ series as the company’s ‘bread-and-butter’ sedan. 

This example is offered with a Vic RWC and is on the market in Melbourne for $12,500.
