2000 Holden VT Commodore SS – Todays Unique Tempter

Before the Holden Crewman there was this, and if you think it looks a bit different, you are not alone.

It’s essentially an SS Commodore that has had its boot cut off and then replaced with a steel chassis which extends the wheelbase by a meter, so that a new tray can sit on top of it. The boot is then flipped upside down and reattached as an integral part of the rear structure.

It looks like it was a complicated procedure, and was performed by a group that was called ‘The New One Tonner Co.’ who completed surgery on VSs and VTs in limited numbers. These particular VT SS models were a special edition, and the number of builds was kept to just 47.

The benefits of this transformation meant that you got the comfort and practicality of a regular VT sedan, with the convenience of a ute.

This particular ‘New One Tonner’ is number 1 of 47, and, according to the seller, has travelled 152,000 kilometres from new.

In addition, the vehicle has the original ‘New One Tonner’ build plate attached and accompanying booklets and paraphernalia.
