Big Brit cruiser
Jaguar had been through some interesting times in the lead-up to the 1997 launch of this model, which was seen as the one to get the company back on track.
According to our feature on the X308 series: “No longer was there a Sir William Lyons to inspire his in-house stylists, so Jaguar’s design team, led by the late Geoff Lawson, looked to the era of Lyons when styling the X300 and later X308.
“Where the XJ40 was angular and unfriendly, Lawson’s team applied elements of Series 1 XJ6 shapeliness and created a car that still turns heads and attracts enthusiast buyers to the Jaguar brand.”
It followed on in the Jag tradition of providing an exceptional ride with surprisingly capable handling.
The 3.2lt V8 is tied to a five-speed auto and the car comes with the sports pack suspension and wheels.
Said to be in great shape, it’s showing 158k on the odo and is on the market through Lorbek in Melbourne for $39,990.
