1994 Nissan 300ZX – today’s tempter

Classic nineties Zed

The generational move from the long-nose Z31 300ZX, which still carried styling influences from the original 240Z, to the squat Z32 was a bold one for Nissan.

In a buyer guide on the Z32, Cliff Chambers notes: “By early 1990 the radically restyled and substantial Nissan made its way to Australia, with a 166kW, naturally aspirated, 3.0lt V6. Buyers in other markets got to revel in the 208kW twin-turbo version. Examples of the latter of course made their way to Australia as grey imports and are in demand as special-interest cars.”

This Fairlady is a grey import two-seater with an enhanced normally-aspirated 3.0lt V6 and five-speed manual transmission. It’s running the later version of the company’s HICAS four-wheel steering system.

Located in Sydney, it’s on the market at $33,500.
