All original and extremely low Ks!
The VP/VR chassis was a breakthrough for Holden, bringing a new independent rear end and family-friendly versatility (with a healthy dose of attitude) right around the time when the early 90s recession began loosening its grips on the Australian masses.
Following the 130 VP GTS’, the VR GTS was introduced in 1994, and did away with the critiques of offering the VP in automatic-only, by offering a new T56 six-speed manual, and a newly-offered 5.7lt V8 good for 215kW. A Hydratrak limited-slip differential helped keep power on the ground.
Colour choices were just green, red or white, clad in a slightly awkward and haphazard body kit and engulfing a Glencoe-patterned cloth cabin for five.
These HSVs are actually quite rare, and until now haven’t quite found themselves in the limelight of big-buck collecting. With the way Aussie metal is churning along currently however, it’s a fair bet that these things will soar north in the future.
For the top notch example like this however, the market and buyers will ultimately decide whether the seller is too far head of the curve.
Objectively however, the car looks a gem.
Build number 118, and all original with matching numbers, the car reportedly bears just 26,376kms on its odo, and comes with logbooks, owners manual, HSV authentication and documentation.
The car comes with new brakes, disks and tyres on all four corners.
Asking price is listed as $45,000, and the car is based in New South Wales.
