One of 77, recent full service, new tyres. Needs a little love but it’s all there
HSV’s VR-based Clubsport was the brand’s first foray into taking their winning V8 formula, and applying it to a station wagon.
Just 77 wagons were built, contrasted by the 1117 sedans. They featured the 5.0lt V8 up front backed by either a four-speed auto or five-speed manual.
Over the past couple of years, VR-VT Clubbies have climbed a little but remain relatively inexpensive to step into and run. A lot of parts are still easily found too given the car’s younger vintage.
Of course, with the shuttering of Australia’s manufacturing industry – we’re confident interest in these youngtimers will be revived at some point.
This Dove Grey 1993 VR Clubsport is one of the 77 wagons built by HSV.
It’s spec’d with the four-speed auto and has undergone a recent full service with all fluids replaced. It’s also sitting on brand new Falken tyres and comes from its second owner (who’s owned it for 15 years) who will include all HSV books, documentation and owner’s certificate along with the sale.
The car seems honest, with the seller pointing out a few areas that could use a little TLC. There is some clear coat peeling on the roof and little spot on the bonnet, which could use a lick of paint. And the headliner has a bad case of the sag and will need replacing; however the seats and door cards look to be in good nick. It’s got 318,000kms on the odo, but is described as running perfectly.
Overall, the car is complete, and presents in fair condition throughout.
The car is based in New South Wales and is listed for $16,990.
