Ex-Victoria patrol car: factory 5.0lt in unrestored and original condition
Holden’s VP Commodore introduced a more refined iteration of its 3.8lt V6 that appeared in later VNs; but introduced various other improvements including Independent Rear Suspension – fitted as standard across Calais and SS.
The 5.0lt V8 remained optional across the entire range of Executive, S, Berlina, Calais and SS models.
Australian-calibrated Bosch ABS brakes were also introduced in August of 1992; optionable on V8 and IRS-equipped models, and become an option across the range on the Series II.
This 1993 Series II VP Commodore Executive is said to be an ex-Victorian BT1 patrol car.
It’s in very original condition with its numbers-correct 5.0lt V8 and four-speed auto with original log books consummating the VIC Police as its original owner.
It’s travelled 144,946kms, which is low for a service vehicle; and remains in unrestored condition and totally original save for the original Commodore radio/cassette player which has been replaced with a modern unit.
The sellers describe the car as in good condition throughout, free of rust and accident damage. The interior is very good with only small wear showing on the driver’s side bolster.
The car is mechanically well-sorted with rebuilt bottom end, crow cam, new water pump, reconditioned heads, and all fluids recently serviced in July 2019.
The car is based in Melbourne and is listed for $16,000.
