When was the last time you saw one of these?!
The VQ Holden Caprice and Holden Statesman is a range of luxury focussed four-door sedans built by GMH between March 1990 and March 1994.
The Opulent cruisers were Holden’s first attempt at basing a Statesman/Caprice off a regular Commodore.
The VQ was built to take the fight to sales competitors such as Ford’s Fairlane and LTD models, as well as European rivals from the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
Power was derived from either a Buick-sourced 3.8lt V6 or the venerable, Aussie built 5.0lt V8 which could be had in several different states of tune.
The shove from these donks was sent to the VQs rear wheels via GMs HyrdaMatic 700 four-speed automatic transmission. No manual option was provided for the VQ range.
This particular VQ is a Series 2 Caprice which has been enhanced by Holden Special Vehicles.
According to the seller, the vehicle has travelled an original 128,000 kilometres from new and, judging from the photos, the VQ appears to be in very good condition.
The Caprice is $9990 and anyone interested in this opulent Aussie bruiser can view the full listing here.
