Don’t see too many of these
The Holden HDT VN Aero is a limited-run performance sedan based off the Holden VN Commodore.
Limited to just 77 examples, the VN HDT Aero was a comprehensively different package compared to the car it was based on.
For a start, the Aero received an entirely new bodykit, which comprised a new front bumper, half door moulds, rear bumper and three-piece boot spoiler.
The Aero also scored new ‘Starform’ wheels which could be specified in either 16×7 or 17×8 size fitments.
Buyers also got the choice of optioning their Aero with either the then new Buick derived 3.8lt V6 or the venerable 5.0lt V8, both of which were fitted with HDT modifications such as a cold-air intake.
These engine modifications meant that both the V6 and V8 pumped out impressive power figures: 167kW and 199kW respectively.
The shove from these donks was sent to the Aero’s rear wheels via a choice of either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
This particular HDT Aero is build number 24 and, according to the seller, the vehicle has travelled 190,000 kilometres from new.
The seller adds that this Aero comes equipped with the 5.0lt V8 and the four-speed automatic transmission and is in excellent original condition.
The HDT VN Aero is $23,000 and anyone interested in this rare, Aussie built best can view the full listing here.
