Hero coupe
BMW’s E30 M3 is rightly the stuff of motorsport folklore, having dominated European touring car racing for much of its early existence.
Built only in left-hand drive and in relatively small numbers, it has become highly collectible.
Our feature on the series notes: “A road going version of BMW’s new Group A racing saloon was the concept behind the model. It combined the E30 3 Series two-door coupe body with a 200 horsepower, normally aspirated four-cylinder engine, close ratio manual gearbox, lightweight body panels and superb handling. It was the complete package and is still lauded today.”
This example is unusual in that it is said to be one of a batch of four cars that were shipped new to the UK, converted to right-hand drive by a BMW dealer, and then sold new in New Zealand with a factory warranty.
Located in New Zealand, it is said to have a well-known history and is on the market at NZ$199,500 (Au$183,000).
