David Earl's HDT VL SS Group A #445
I hang on to cars and still have the Ford XA GT I bought when I was 18. It cost me $800 at the time, so I’m pretty happy with that one.
It spends most of its time in a shed and I needed something to drive. So I got the VL Group A. It’s something I’m happy to drive and I love being in it.
I remember watching Brock at Bathurst in 1987 – if you’ve seen the footage, how could you not love it? I’ve wanted one ever since then. It took time, but I got it at a really good price. It’s been with me for six years and I’ve done a fair bit to it. The values took off not long after I got it. I keep mine original, it’s not a concours car because it gets used. It’s there to be enjoyed and it’s not something I worry too much about.
