1985 Porsche Carrera – today’s tempter

3.2lt full power spec

Porsche’s revival of the Carrera name in in 1984 (it previously finished in 1977) marked the adoption of a huge number of upgrades for the 911.

Updated body styling also marked advancements for the boxer six powerplant, effectively a new motor with a claimed 80 per cent updated componentry.

The chassis too came in for attention, with the inclusion of new suspension and brake packages.

By now the engine was bumped out to 3.2lt and the version shown here is claiming 231hp.

The car is Australian-delivered, with a five-speed manual transmission and a high level of cabin equipment.

It’s with the Healey Factory in Melbourne, priced at $115,000.
