1984 Holden VK Commodore BT1 – Todays Tempter

Ex-police car in good mechanical condition with factory 5.0lt V8 and four-speed manual

The VK Commodore heralded in the era of plastic bumpers, arriving in 1984 with production ending in 1986.

The car gained rear quarter windows for a more airy cabin, a new grille and tail light assembly.

Under the bonnet, you could opt for your choice of two six-cylinder black motors, either carburetted or EFI; as well as two V8 options. Cog-swapping was handled by either a four or five-speed manual or a three-speed automatic gearbox.

This first-year build VK, is an ex-Police car in BT1 specification.

According to the listing, the 5.0lt V8 and four-speed manual are factory and correct to the car.

Overall, the police pack car is said to be in great condition with minor wear and tear from its days as a pursuit car. It’s mechanically good and “drives great with all components in working order”.

From photos, it looks to be a fine example with presentable exterior and a dash and seats that are free of tears and noticeable wear. It might be worth a closer look if you’re in the market for a BT1 VK.

The car is based in New South Wales, and is listed for $26,000.
