1982 Mazda RX7 series II – today’s tempter

Stock standard rotary

If you were in the hunt for a collectible Japanese sports car, Mazda’s RX-7 series of rotaries should be high on your list.

Lively, easy to handle and with one of the nicest shapes to come out of Japan these early RX-7s are very much on the collector radar.

The catch of course is they tend to have had a fairly rough life and many were heavily modified over time.

This car looks like a rare survivor, as the pics suggest it’s stock while the seller says it has only 35,000km on the odo.

While series I is top of the collector list, series II boasted some useful upgrades and still rates as desirable.

This NSW car comes with a RWC and is priced at $15,500.
