Even by the standards of the excessive eighties, the Rolls-Royce Camargue was a stand-out indulgence and was among the most expensive production car on the planet during its 1976-87 production run.
Building one of these Pininfarina-styled machines was quite a process. According to the seller: The body shell was built in the Mulliner Park Ward division of the factory which had by now been relocated to Crewe. The Rolls-Royce Crewe factory team carried out the mechanical assembly. It then returned into the hands of the Mulliner team for trimming and final finishing and was given a 100-150 mile road test before final certification and polishing.
Powering the car is the period 6.75lt V8 with a three-speed automatic transmission.
This example has undergone a restoration and is being offered by Paradise Garage in Sydney at $225,000.
