The VC Holden Commodore is the second iteration of the first generation of what many consider to be Australia’s greatest automotive moniker.
Built between March 1980 and October 1981, the VC replaced the outgoing VB, and brought with it a raft of changes aimed at addressing the criticisms of its predecessor.
These changes included a different chassis set-up with revised spring and damper rates for an improved ride quality, cosmetic tweaks and the introduction of mod-cons such as cruise control.
Customers could choose from a number of different engines to slot under the bonnet of their VC, and these included a 1.9lt inline four-cylinder, 2.85lt and 3.3lt inline six-cylinder and a 4.2lt or 5.0lt V8, both of which could be had in two different states of tune.
Power from these donks was sent to the rear wheels via either a three-speed automatic or a four-speed manual transmission.
The VC was a successful model for the Iron Lion, with over 121,000 being sold in its year-and-a-half of production.
This particular VC is a 1980 model with the 4.2lt V8 donk and the three-speed automatic transmission.
According to the seller, the vehicle is in very good condition both mechanically and cosmetically and has travelled an original 76,000 kilometres from new.
