Time warp car plus a project
For those of us who can think back that far, the launch of the Range Rover back in 1969 was truly revolutionary for the 4X4 world.
It rocketed the whole Land Rover brand forward by a couple of generations and pointed to where the entire sector would end up going.
As we noted in a piece on the series: The Rangie cemented its place as the consummate all-rounder that could easily handle traversing creeks and rivers and muddy farms during the day and then turn up to an opening night at the theatre. It looked equally at home at both.”
The early three-door versions developed a modest cult following over time, to the extent where just five years ago there was a ‘reborn’ program rebuilding them.
Collecting Cars has two 1978 three-doors available.
The first is an exceptional example that would appear to have very low miles and has seen bidding reach $51,000 with a day to go. See it here.
There is also a project car available, for which bidding ends this evening.
