This well-travelled Aussie is seeking a new home in the old country
One Australian expat has found itself in the Queen’s country, and in need of a new home.
We came across the Red Flame 1977 Ford Fairmont XB Hardtop in the international section of our classifieds – located in the town of Morley (no, not that Morley), approximately eight clicks southwest of Leeds in West Yorkshire county. It’s listed for GBP£42,000, which equates to AU$75,724 at the current exchange rate.
The UK-based owner and seller, Wayne, left Australia back in 2010 and took his XC Fairmont with him as his personal import to the UK.

The car is a factory manual 4.9lt V8 car finished in red flame over doe skin interior.
The Fairmont is said to be one of the best unrestored examples out there, and has never been touched with a welder. Wayne points out the presence of a very small amount of rust at the rear screen, although it has been there since he bought the car and has never gotten worse.
He goes on to say that the car has never been wet under his ownership, and is kept safely garaged in the rainy UK.
The sale will be handled in GB Pounds Sterling according to Wayne, not Australian dollars. He states that he is happy to assist with shipping in any way were the car to head overseas again.
A large number of spares are also available for extra negotiation.
We’ve come across a handful of classic Aussies that now call the UK home – although we imagine they must still be a tremendously unfamiliar site on those smaller British roads.
Do we have any UK-based readers that might seeking a V8-powered slice of home? You can enquire about the XC Fairmont via email at the listing link here.
